Comments on PURE POD FOR NOW PEOPLE: Episode 9

Thanks for the nice comments...I honestly haven't heard much Richard Thompson... Cheap Trick, The Undertones, The Buzzcocks and and Love are much more my speed as I consider myself a Rockfiend more than a folkie..

Over rated bands? I kinda feel like that whole thing is a suckers game as it's based more on what the masses seem to key into that you don't connect with.. sure i'd rather that Radio Birdman or The Hellacopters were huge and getting the attention that I think they deserve... but if U2 or Death Cab for Cutie are what people want, and what the people won't stop talking about oh well...

Most overrated band? Steely Dan. To me, they are C-R-A-P. This is not saying that they aren't good musicians. The fact that they were inducted into the Rock n Roll hall of fame is asinine!
Great show, love The Clash, but I really love ‘Love + 1’, can’t hear enough of that song!

Brinde, Steely Dan is very polarizing. I have 10 friends (only 10) 5 love them, 5 loathe them. You are the 2nd person to sing the praises of Love +1, I think the masses have spoken and it must be played very soon on the podcast. Thanks for listening.

I have really enjoyed your show and have listend to them all. But I must say that you are wrong about The Doors. You can't honestly tell me that when you are on a road trip that Roadhouse Blues and Break on Through are not some of the best driving songs of all time. Sorry but you hit most things dead on but you are way off on this one.
I do agree with you on the Beach Boys, my first full length album was the double greatest hits Endless Summer. I drove my parents nuts with that record. The most overrated band is The Greateful Dead. I have never been to a Dead show so I don't have the "expierence" under my belt but I could never have made it through a show due to the foul smell of that damn hippie stink. Keep up the good work.

Valid point Ken..I will admit that the Doors songs you mentioned are 2 palatable doors songs. My 2 faves songs by them would be L.A. Woman and Touch Me. I think it is the fact that Ray Manzarek cannot speak one sentence without bringing up what Jim would do (WWJD), coupling that with Morrison's awful poetry, it is a little tough to swallow. But if there is a contender to the Doors throne in my mind, it would be the Dead, and stinky fans does not help their case.
Thanks for the kinds words, we hope you keep listening!
