Born and blessed with the name Gitanjali, meaning literally “song offering”, it seems as if DJ Anjali was destined to do what she does. Which is rad for her. (Sucks for Mike though. He looked up Mike Williams in the dictionary, and it apparently doesn’t mean shit. Sorry, Mike!) She travels from coast to coast, digging deep into record bins, going to markets, and picking up the latest and dopest in Bollywood, Bhangra, Asian Garage, and Drum and Bass. Amassing a collection of music that literally spans the globe, she ties it all together and takes the dance floor on a motherfucking rocket ride. This is exactly why her monthly Andaz (with The Incredible Kid) and Atlas (with E3) nights are some of the most established dance nights in Portland. Her originality, natural talent, keen ear for dope shit, straight hustle, and her beauty shoot out of the speakers, sonically bring the world together, and for a few hours you can imagine world peace… and lots of dancing.
