So Hot Right Now Presents Sleazy V

E-40 was once quoted saying something like, “To survive in this business, you’ve got to stay hungry, and you’ve got to stay humble”. So true, so true. But, he left out the part about how you need to be really, really talented at what you do. Luckily for us, San Ysidro’s Sleazy V reads between the lines, and cranks out nothing but solid gold shit—remixing, producing, DJ-ing, you name it. So, you know we had to hit him up for a mix for So Hot Right Now. Being the hungry, humble, and talented man he is, he broke us off a proper, proper mix that he recorded live at a party. Sleazy V is one of the most exciting DJs around right now, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him. Don’t forget us when you blow up, holmes!

Quick interview, and tracklisting after the jump!

Stay hungry: sohotrightnow@portlandmercury.com

PORTLAND MERCURY: Where you from?
SLEAZY V: I was born and raised in San Ysidro, CA just two exits from the Tijuana border.

Where you at?
I'm at home now working on more music and sippin' on a 40 of OE.

Where you goin'?
I'm going to Guadalajara, Mexico mid-June to do a little three-day tour and then come back and DJ in a couple of SD spots.

What have you been up to lately?
Just working on music and trying to get my shit straight and trying to find a job. [laughs]

What are your career highlights so far?
Well, that Bigstereo thing was pretty "big", I guess. Hah--it was weird to see my mix on that shit. DJ-ing in Tijuana, Mexico. I loved the crowd there! They fuckin' stay dancing 'till 7 am! (Well, that was the time I left and people were still partying so who knows how much longer they partied.)

If you had to give this mix a "theme" what would it be?
I just want people to dance or enjoy it.

Hell yeah, thanks, and any last shout-outs you want to give?
Mad props to you. Bigstereo, friends, new friends, fans, new fans, Tony Tee 'n' Family.
