Dave Allen says, “The MP3s keep arriving. I wrote the other day about the new Stephen Malkmus album and today I received a cut from it—Baltimore. A couple of blogs have written that this is a Randy Newman cover but a quick look at the lyrics from Newman’s Baltimore put that rumour to rest. Meanwhile another Portland band, A Weather, have a new album coming out February 8th on Team Love. The Raveonettes have signed to Vice and will release their new album, Lust, Lust, Lust soon enough. And then I found yet another Radiohead remix. Also my 2007 top ten best albums list overlooked the rather fabulous Jay-Z album, American Gangster, a set of songs inspired by the movie of the same name, so I’ve dropped in a cut from that album too, which by the way is still only $7.99 for a DRM-free album download at Amazon.”
