Hey Matt, don't feel too bad about dissing Pavement in front of Kannenberg, while they are one of the great bands of the 90's if not THE great band of the 90's, Malkmus made money off of trashing Smashing Pumpkins and Stone Temple Pilots...forget the song, but it's on Crooked Rain....and yes, both of those bands get what's coming to them...but it's the principle of the thing!

I think I felt bad because Kannenberg was SUCH a good guy about it.
I could see taking a shot at the lead singers of the pumpkins and the pilots. The Deleo's seem like good guys though..

OK, this is my first time listening to your podcast and I'm really loving it. You've nailed my overweight 39-year-old demographic...uh, that's a good thing right?
Sonic Youth story: I'm walking down Hawthorne in 91' and I see this guy at a distance and I'm thinking "Oh this asshole sooooo wishes he was Thurston Moore" and as I'm passing him I give him this lingering look of contempt and he smiles at me...and it's Thurston Moore, and to pound the fact home, I look back at him and the telephone pole has a poster for a Sonic Youth playing at LaLuna or someplace...can't touch your Pavement story though....keep up the good work, looks like I have 66 more podcasts to take in...
